Story County Youth Philanthropists Grant Guidelines 2011-2012
Guidelines for Proposals SCYP is committed to coordinating resources to specific objectives and
outcomes. Applicants should keep these objectives in mind while completing
their applications.
Community
Betterment Objectives
Grant
proposals that address one or more of these long-range objectives are greatly
encouraged: ·
Encourage
Story County residents to be welcoming and
understanding of diverse ways of life ·
Support
strong, stable communities, families, children, and youth ·
Address
community needs in the areas of education, health, mental health, poverty,
financial instability, human services, and environmental concerns ·
Strengthen
the nonprofit sector by supporting nonprofit organizations, promoting
philanthropy, and encouraging civic involvement
SCYP
is committed to the priorities of the objectives listed above. These objectives
are, however, changed annually to meet the needs of emerging developments and
issues in the community.
Grants
are made only to nonprofit organizations with 501(c)3 status, charitable
projects of a governmental agency, or to the fiscal agent for a project. Funding
is limited to projects that will benefit the Story County community.
SCYP
generally will not consider funding requests for: ·
Annual
or capital fundraising campaigns ·
Endowments ·
Ongoing
annual operating expenses or salaries ·
A
program requiring participation in a religious activity ·
Projects
not serving the residents of Story
County ·
Budget
deficits ·
Scholarships
for individuals
NOTE: Final reports
including proof of purchases and expenditures relating to grants must be
supplied to SCYP by August 30, 2012. To apply for future grants, all
reports must be completed.
